Our Art, Yoga and Relaxation Retreats are proving to be very popular!
This was one of the best holidays I've been on! In the wonderful setting of Chateau Joncasses in the beautiful Lot Vally, and under Kaz's guidance and tuition in a whole range of activities you can't fail to be inspired and engaged. We did so many different things throughout the week and it was a treat to start each day with a morning stretch/yoga/meditation class in the tranquil gardens before a delicious breakfast of local croissants and other delicacies. Kaz's timetable of activities included a range of art classes, each one focusing on a different medium which was great for an almost beginner like me. Kaz's instruction was fantastic with detailed demos, tips and guidance before we tried things ourselves, and she was always on hand to help and advise as our "masterpieces" took shape.
But the trip wasn't just about art and yoga - we went to several local restaurants, had a picnic in the fairytale woods (followed by an art class), had a wine tasting evening in the cellar's cave, visited Cahors, had several post dinner music nights (being not at all musical I was a little anxious about these but they were great fun and we even honed some dance routines to accompany Kaz and Nicky (the chateau owner) who both played the saxophone at the local music festival!!). When not partaking in an activity the fabulous pool with its comfy loungers beckoned, and Kaz was brilliant at adjusting the timetable according to the weather forecast, to ensure we had pool/free time when the sun was shining its strongest.
The owners of the chateau, Richard and Nicky, are wonderful and they were always on hand to ensure everything was just perfect. Kaz was brilliant in every way and her expert planning and attention to detail ensured we had an action packed, yet relaxing and fun filled time. My love of art has been re-ignited and I hope to do more at home. I can't wait to go back!
I have just returned from my second year at Chateau Joncasses doing a Yoga and Art holiday with music thrown in for good measure. I do not have enough superlatives to say how wonderful this holiday is, I loved every minute. Kaz Dyke who runs the course is an organiser extraordinaire and went out of her way to arrange lots of unusual and fun activities to keep us entertained such as producing pebble designs to decorate the Chateau steps and a fabulous fun and informative wine tasting evening in the Chateau wine cave. We tried out so many different mediums in our art classes and all returned home with artwork to be proud of. Do not be put off if you have never done art before, Kaz is wonderfully kind and encouraging. Waking up to sunrise yoga with the sun on our faces is just fabulous and the very best way to start the day. The Chateau itself is beautiful and is set in fabulous grounds. Richard and Nicky who own the Chateau are absolutely lovely and are on hand if you need anything at all. Having been on the holiday two years running, I now consider Kaz, Richard and Nicky good friends and I can't wait to return again next year!
